Wessex Supports YMCA Bournemouth Charity

For the second consecutive year, Wessex Packaging has supported the YMCA Bournemouth in their charity fundraising events.

Our donation of cardboard boxes went to Poole High School and Poole Grammar School to help students take part in the YMCA‘s “Sleep Easy”‘ campaign 2024.

Each year the “Sleep Easy” events take part with local schools and colleges in Bournemouth and the surrounding Dorset area. The events offer a fantastic challenge to individuals and organisations to help raise awareness of the hardships of homelessness and raise funds for YMCA Bournemouth – a Bournemouth based charity – that works to bring homelessness to an end.

Participants set themselves a fundraising target before wrapping up warm, building a cardboard shelter and then ‘sleeping rough so others don’t have to’.

The YMCA Bournemouth “Sleep Easy” raises thousands of pounds annually, helping to tackle issues caused by homelessness in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and other parts of Dorset.

The charity offers hope to local homeless people, as well as creating an understanding of what it is really like to sleep rough for those taking part.

As we are a leading packaging supplies company in Dorset, we deliver daily to businesses in Poole and are an ideal packaging company to partner with for the event.

Students used the cardboard boxes donated by us here at Wessex Packaging to create unique temporary shelters to spend the night in.

Their continued support is greatly appreciated, and the help from their friendly customer service team and delivery driver was first class.
