Wessex Packaging Grows with A&A Packaging Acquisition

Hampshire based packaging company, A&A Packaging Ltd., has joined the Wessex Packaging Group.

A&A Packaging, a family-owned and run business based in Horndean, Hampshire, has become part of WP Industrial Ltd., (trading as Wessex Packaging) through an agreed share purchase.

This is the second recent acquisition for Wessex Packaging, and extends the customer base further across the South Coast, Thames Valley and the South East of England. Demand for Wessex’s packaging materials, machines and logistics packaging expertise is growing nationally and this acquisition strengthens the opportunities for the business in the region.

Wessex Packaging has its HQ and National Distribution Centre in Somerset, and now has A&A Packaging, MorsaPack, Surepack (Bristol) Ltd, Bayquest Packaging and Tapekraft as part of the group. Internationally, Compack USA, founded by Doug Barter in 2014 and based in Portland, Oregon, is also part of WP Industrial.

Lead by Managing Director, Trevor Knight, A&A Packaging was established in 1985 and is second generation family-run. Known throughout the South and South East as a dependable source of high quality and innovative packaging products, A&A provides many businesses with a single source of packaging products based on the highest levels of service, quality, and competitiveness.

Wessex Packaging is in its 50^th year and is one of the UK’s leading independent packaging companies, and it remains family owned and run. Wessex operates as a national wholesale packaging business, and are experts in pallet wrap and load stability products, working in partnership with national and multinational companies across the UK. Wessex Packaging is also the official GB distributor for the innovative ErgoPack strapping machine range.

There will be no change for existing A&A Packaging customers. The A&A team will continue to operate from 16B Westfield Industrial Estate, Horndean, Hampshire, PO8 9JX, with the existing contact details of [email protected] and 023 9259 7792.
