Wessex Packaging Awarded EcoVadis Silver Medal

We’re thrilled to announce that Wessex Packaging has been awarded an EcoVadis Silver Medal!

This is in recognition of our on-going commitment to sustainability and the environment throughout the business.

This silver EcoVadis award builds upon the assessment in 2023, where we received a bronze award and now places us in the top 15% globally of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.

All of the team here at Wessex Packaging are on a journey to demonstrate a strong ESG commitment. Over the course of the last year we have improved our environmental reporting and developed a more sustainable procurement offering, which has helped us achieve this Silver EcoVadis award.

EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, with a global network of more than 100,000 rated companies. EcoVadis evaluates how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability into their business and management system and illustrates performance across 21 indicators and four themes: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

EcoVadis recognised the additional work that our team at Wessex has achieved over the last year, including introducing a fully renewable utilities supply and a companywide training programme covering environmental and people issues.

These new initiatives support our existing sustainable procurement policy and their energy consumption and carbon emissions reduction projects.

Our commitment to partnering with both customers and suppliers is proven by this enhanced recognition from EcoVadis. It demonstrates that not only are our processes and day-to-day operations managed within stringent criteria, but that there is a pathway to further improvement.”

EcoVadis re-accreditation takes place annually and the team at Wessex Packaging are actively working on recommended improvement plans in readiness of their 2025 audit.

Wessex Packaging is also ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified, and a BRCGS Storage and Distribution certified company.
