Proud to support Somerset’s 10k – The Chinnocks Chase

Wessex Packaging is proud to announce that it is a Gold Sponsor of the forthcoming Chinnocks Chase 10k (5k & 2K) event that is taking place, here in Somerset, on Saturday 18 May.

The Chinnocks Chase is a hard, predominantly off road, 10k run,  encompassing stiff climbs, long descents, holloways, tracks, lanes and stiles. There is also a 5k run which is a flatter, multi terrain run, and there is a 2k fun run for our younger runners, all through the stunning scenery of the Chinnocks. The Chinnocks are made up of the three villages of West, East and Middle Chinnock in South Somerset and the race has been established by a small sub committee of the PFA for West Chinnock Primary School in order to raise funds for the small school.

The funds raised will go towards building a new library for the school. The plan is that it will be a separate building to the rest of the school; a dedicated library for reading and quiet time. The current library is a very small, multi purpose area within the main building which means that the children are not always able to use it as freely as we would like them to.

West Chinnock Primary School is a small village school with a lot going on for its size!  Set in the rolling hills of South Somerset, West Chinnock is a happy, caring place where the staff and parents work together to give the children the best start in life.  The children benefit greatly from the schools’ small size and mixed age classes and the warm, family atmosphere.
