As a wholesale packaging supplier, DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) have obligated us to advise them on what categories our customers fall into for the new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation.
The EPR will be determined whether your business falls into one of two categories: A Large: or Small Organisation.
Large Organisations
Organisations will be fully obligated within the regulations if they meet or exceed the threshold of:
- An annual turnover of £2 million or more, AND
- 50 tonnes or more of packaging supplied to the UK market per year.
Small Organisations
A new lower threshold will obligate smaller businesses at:
- An annual turnover of £1 million or more, AND
- 25 tonnes or more packaging supplied to the UK market per year.
