ErgoPack stars at Packaging Innovations & Empack show!

Visitors from across the world came to Stand B100 to make ErgoPack a star of the 2024 Packaging Innovations and Empack trade show last week.

Headlining as a ‘Revolution in Pallet Strapping’ the ErgoPack machines were demonstrated to show just how ergonomic, easy and efficient they are to strap pallets, instead of the usual awkward manual method.

The team from Wessex Packaging (Official GB ErgoPack Distributor) demonstrated the 713X ErgoPack machine on a clear perspex pallet box, so that ErgoPack’s unique ChainLance could clearly be seen pulling the strapping through the base of the pallet.

This innovative feature replaces the need for a warehouse worker to slot a piece of strapping onto a broom handle, or piece of wood, and then having to push it through the base of the pallet! Instead, the ChainLance takes the strapping under the pallet, up the side and over the top of the pallet load, back into the hand of the operator, who can then easily tension and seal the strapping.

All of this takes under 30 seconds!

Meaning that a pallet can be strapped twice in under one minute!

Empack is the ‘end-of-line’ packaging part of the trade show, held in the NEC, Birmingham from 21st – 22nd February 2024, and ErgoPack starred as a prime example of how process improvements and efficiencies can be made at the dispatch part of the logistics process.

Many visitors to the ErgoPack stand commented that they had never seen anything like this before, or how they wished they’d had ErgoPack when they were in roles where they had to do the pallet strapping by hand!

Many also recognised an opportunity to remove plastic from their supply chain, by strapping products to pallets, rather than wrapping in pallet stretch film.

Simon Watt and Kevin Saltmarsh, ErgoPack Experts at Wessex Packaging, were on the stand meeting visitors, demonstrating the machine in real life, and booking no-obligation on-site demonstrations, so that operations teams could see for themselves how effective an ErgoPack machine could be as part of their logistics processes.
