Logistics teams from the defence industry were interested to see our ErgoPack strapping machines at DPRTE last week.
DPRTE (Defence Procurement Research Technology Exportability) is the UK’s leading defence procurement and supply chain event, and was held at the Farnborough Exhibition Centre on 26th and 27th March 2025.
Our team here at Wessex Packaging, along with our colleagues from A&A Packaging, based in Portsmouth, exhibited the ErgoPack X lithium battery powered machine, and a range of Defence Standard (Def-Stan) packaging products. The demonstration of the ErgoPack mobile machine proved to be a real eye-opener to supply chain experts looking for an easy, ergonomic and efficient pallet strapping solution.
Defence industry professionals who have responsibility for storing and transporting goods throughout the UK or internationally were interested in ErgoPack’s ability to safely secure loads in transit. The application of PET strapping to secure good to pallets, or to secure crated goods, is made easy by ErgoPack and it’s benefits were recognised by visitors to DPRTE 2025.
Within the defence industry, ErgoPack strapping machines are already used by the UK Ministry of Defence, BAE Systems, Thales and the Royal Air Force. Wessex Packaging and A&A Packaging also work in partnership with companies including: Accuracy International Ltd; Wincanton; DHL; The Bank of England: Amazon; GXO; and the RNLI.
Our range of Defence Standard packaging includes products that meet Def-Stan 81-41, the primary standard that UK military packaging must comply with. Our Def-Stan packaging products include layflat tubing, Kraft union paper, tapes and we also supply bespoke closed cell foam inserts to surround products in boxes or cases.
