We’re ready for the Black Friday fulfilment packaging rush, are you?
The date of Black Friday this year is 29th November, in two weeks’ time. However, as we’re all too aware, the discounted sales season has already started with many brands and retailers having promotions from October through to Christmas…and beyond.
Current figures from the Office for National Statistics state that the amount spent online, known as “online spending values”, remained flat at 0.0% during August 2024, and rose by 4.3% compared with August 2023.
Statistica.com states: “According to the data published by the Office for National Statistics in August 2024, online sales of department stores showed one of the highest yearly growth, at 13.7 percent. In turn, online sales of household goods’ stores had a sharp decline in Great Britain, with negative 12.8 percent.”
These figures show overall continued growth, and with the recent increase in ecommerce sales from department stores, there may be a higher need for a greater variety of packaging materials to meet consumer demand.
