7 days to go…maybe! We’re Brexit ready.

With the 29th March now one week away, I want to update you on our packaging stockholding and global sourcing options that my team and I here at Wessex Packaging have ahead of Brexit…whether it’s on the 29th March, 12th April or 22th May!

We’re all aware, the UK Government has advised businesses to plan for potential temporary disruption of goods moving across UK and European countries, so we have put in plans to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible service and products to you.

Stockholding

Our new 70k sq ft distribution centre in Yeovil, Somerset has enabled us to increase our inventory and secure greater stock levels in anticipation of supply and demand fluctuations. This capacity gives us up to 3 months stockholding of many standard items which means that availability is unlikely to be affected if lead times become extended or goods are detained in customs.

Sourcing

Our Global Procurement Team work in close partnership with suppliers across the UK, USA, Far East as well as the EU, enabling us to minimise the risk of issues surrounding the supply chain from, or through, mainland Europe. This existing global business capability and knowledge also means that we’re experienced in handling customs procedures that could otherwise delay goods.
